Hi, I’m rich, you’re not - can I have some money?
The web is a strange place. Where else would an organisation that is being paid - handsomely, more likely than not - to do a job then approach individuals with fewer - or zero - resources and ask them do do their jobs for them - for free?
It’s mental. It’s like the bankers just going around the streets asking average-wage Joes for money.
Build relationships? If you mean ‘place a link, whose monetary value is unclear but certainly exists, from your site to mine with the anchor text that I specify for absolutely no return whatsoever’ then I suppose you could call it ‘a relationship’.
I may attempt to form relationships with some local shops in Liverpool, in which I go into these shops and enquire if they’d be interested in building a relationship with me, whereby I ask for free goods in exchange for nothing whatsoever - adding that I’m really impressed with the quality and range of the their products (“interesting, varied”).
Put like that, this is clearly insane but that’s pretty much the situation with link requests like this.
“Hi, I’m rich, you’re not - can I have some money?”
No you can’t. Now go away.
Hi there,
I hope you’re well.
I appreciate that as a popular Liverpool based blogger, you often have a rather full inbox to work your way through, so I will try to be as brief as possible.
I currently assist Total Jobs (http://www.totaljobs.com) with their online search marketing and part of that involves helping them build relationships with high quality, influential and popular blogs such as yours.
After coming across your blog when searching for highly relevant, topical sites based around Liverpool, I’ve taken the time to read around and explore your site, for which I’ve been extremely impressed with the content and variety of topics covered. It’s always refreshing to find sites that are interesting, varied.
As an popular blogger in Liverpool, I was wondering if there were currently any available opportunities on your site to highlight the number of jobs currently available in Liverpool via Total Jobs and possibly place a link on the homepage of your site?
As mentioned above, Total Jobs are currently promoting the number of job vacancies that are available in a number of regions and sectors in the UK, particularly Liverpool and so I was hoping that it would be possible to obtain an external anchor text link for the phrase ‘Jobs in Liverpool’ that would directly link to http://www.totaljobs.com/JobSeeking/Liverpool_l2029_t1.html
If you decide this is something you are interested in then please feel free to get in touch.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Kind Regards,
